Pastel Tinted Mason Jars

I am so excited to try out this project of making pastel tinted mason jars.  I’ve had this on my to-do list for such a long time and now I’m finally willing to give it a shot!  Last night I got my final delivery of all the supplies I need – though I’m sure I’ll have to make an emergency craft store visit at some point over the next few days.  This process includes A LOT of steps, but I just am in love the the end result.  I’m planning on pairing these tinted jars with some rustic cream or beige burlap that can be used as a mason jar centerpiece or guest book table decoration.  Can’t wait to get these up on my Etsy shop (altFloral).

Pastel Tinted Mason Jars

I’m traveling for this long Labor Day weekend, so I might not be able to get to this until next week.  I’ll definitely post the results!

10/18/12 Update: I’ve been working on making these for at least a month.  So far, I’ve gotten 1 that looks decent, but several I’ve had to start from scratch with because they just don’t look good.  Most of the time, the issue is probably that I haven’t applied the glaze evenly and it clots up in one spot.  Also, the instructions I’ve used indicated that it only needs to spend an hour in the oven, I’ve found that an entire day in the oven could be necessary.  I’ve never had my oven time out before!  I’m going to keep on working on these – the one that I did correctly looks beautiful.  I just don’t think this is something I can offer on etsy because I can’t guarantee that they will turn out good yet.  Hopefully I’ll get better over time!
