About the Artist

By day, I work an extremely technical job – working on projects for my Etsy shop (altFloral) is my creative outlet. I love creating pieces that will bring such cheer and style to my customer’s special day whether it is their wedding, birthday party, christening, graduation or another special event. Photographs are a delight – but being able to look at a brooch bouquet 15 years from now with your child, they will be able to know exactly how beautiful it was on your wedding day!

Recently took on the task of planning my own wedding – during the process I realized how much of the day would just be memories and I wanted to make something tangible to take away from the day besides photos.My first adventure was a gorgeous brooch bouquet – knowing that I could incorporate items from both my grandmothers, my mother and also other friends and family brooches was such a wonderful sentiment. I immediately realized how you can transform your event into such a meaningful and sentimental journey.

After the brooch bouquet success, I began experimenting with several different types of paper flowers, buttons and more mediums. In the end, the only live flowers we had at our wedding were some potted pansy’s that our guests could take home with them to put in the ground to thrive through the summer!

Through the entire process, I realized how much I love working on these projects and I wanted to share that with the others that might not be quite as crafty. I’m always looking for new projects and concepts to help other’s achieve their perfect wedding. I am constantly searching for unique (and truly vintage) brooches so that I can make unique pieces for the etsy world to use on their special day. I am so happy that I can look at my brooch bouquet years after my wedding and it looks as wonderful as it did on my wedding day.
